My Acadian grandmother always made this in a large rectangular pyrex dish. In french we call this dessert “Poutine aux bleuets”. The dumplings inside are the BEST part, and yes it has to be made with wild blueberries. The skin of cultivated blueberries are just too woody.

This looks delicious! I fondly recall picking blueberries in Maine as a little girl. Not many berries made it into the bucket. I ate most of them.
