Candice - try College Falafel! it is on College (as you might imagine) and one of the little streets as you head west. Delicious. Also - so glad to read your post about Manny's, had been wondering about it.
lovely blog - i'm also a recent addition to Toronto (living in the Annex) and am having a blast getting to know all the spots to go for tasty treats!

I know - who puts grated cheese and BBQ sauce on felafel?! From the looks of your pictures they put the felafel on the flat pita bread and roll it up - which is how they do it in Australia too. In the UK they split the pita and put the felafel in the pocket, which doesn't have nearly enough structure to it so you can't eat it as a sandwich.

Foodycat: I think it's regional! I see you're from Australia but are currently living in the UK. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of my favourite foods are served differently there. :)

Here you sometimes get places that serve falafel as if you were at a sub shop, with all kinds of crazy toppings like pickles, cheese, carrots, mayo, etc. That's more what I was referring to.

I totally agree that tabbouleh is delicious, however. I love it as a side dish! Hummus on the side is fantastic as well, although I'm picky about hummus - I prefer to make my own.

I am sorry, but I just cannot agree with you! The only possible way to eat felafel is with a really lemony, flavourful tabbouli, freshly made hummus and a slick of garlic sauce, all wrapped in warm, soft pita.
